Born in 1952, Budapest. Studied history and philosophy at the ELTE University, Budapest. Diplom in 1976: James Joyce and the Linguistic Turn of Philosophy. Literary manager in several theatres (Kecskeméti Katona József Theatre, Népszínház, National Theatre, etc.), until 1984-ig. Since then freelance writer, translator, graphic artist. Between 1995-97 regular theatre-works in the Új Theatre and the Budapest Chamber Theatre.

PLAYS PUBLISHED AND PERFORMED

1983 in the anthology Dinamit (Magveto) THE PLAYER, after Dostoyevski.

1985 it was produced in the Katona József Theatre.

1987 in the anthology Transformations (Magveto) THE CASTLE, after Kafka.

1989 ALMONDS, a play was published in the theatrical magasine – it was made a TV-play in 1992.

1991 VITELLIUS is presented at the Pécs National Theatre, later in 2005, in Nantes, France.

1993 TERCETT (Trio) is presented in the Kolibri Theatre, in 1995 it was filmed by the Hungarian Television, later 2005 in Nyiregyháza.

1995 THE WAITER was shown in the Miskolc National Theater, also a radio-play.

1997 screenplay for LONG TWIGHLIGHT, a film directed by Attila Janisch which won the first prize of the Hungarian Film Festival (and 12 other prizes, among them the first prize of the Salerno Film Festival).

1999 directing THE WAITER, in Hevesi Sándor Theatre Zalaegerszeg.

2000 a play after Garcia Marquez: Chronicle of a Death Foretold, THE VIRGIN, THE CORPSE, THE BISHOP AND THE KNIVES was shown in Stúdió K, that won the Prize of Best Adaption at the Theater Festival that year, and also the SZÉP ERNO PRIZE. The play was published that year.

2001 Szolnoki Szigligeti Theatre presented LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES, written after Jean Cocteau, the play was published in SZÍNHÁZ 2002 February.

2002 THE SONG OF THE SKUNK was shown in Stúdió K. a play written from the novel of Danilo Kis, The Monument of Boris Davidovic, the play was published in SZÍNHÁZ, 2003 January, won the Best Play prize at the Barka-Festival, Budapest.

2003 THE GOLD DRAGON written after he novel of Dezso Kosztolányi – I directed the play in the Sopron Theatre, premiere was on the 14th of March, 2003.

2004 screenplay for AFTER THE DAY BEFORE, which won the first prize of the Hungarian Filmfestival in February.

2005 THE KEY, in the Katona József Theatre, directed by Tamás Ascher, still playing.
